An Open Letter to Justice Antonin Scalia

Jacksonville, Florida
10 June 2005

Associate Justice Antonin Scalia
Supreme Court of the United States
1 First Street NW
Washington, DC 20543

Dear Justice Scalia,

Enclosed please find one (1) copy of the Constitution of the United States. After reading your recent majority opinion in Gonzalez v. Raisch it has occurred to me that you might not have access to this useful document.

In it, you will find details on the structure and power of the government of the United States, including amendments (most notably, the Tenth) which will demonstrate that your opinion expressed a flawed understanding of the limited scope of federal power.

It is a mercifully short document. Please read it promptly, as it will improve your ability to write well-reasoned and legitimate court opinions. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at locustsandhoney2005 at yahoo dot com.

Blessings,

That was fun! I searched for 'Scalia' and read everything he had to say on this subject. Hate to say it, but I agree with him. Damned pesky Interstate Commerce Clause. That thing gets in the way of more fun...

If you were ever to send me such a letter, I'd have an extra supply of toilet paper, albeit perhaps a little scratchy for its purpose. And I don't care for Scalia much.

You'd wipe your butt with the Constitution?
