Tom Harrison on the latest French efforts to give money to rioters in order to persuade them to stop rioting:
For some people, the first reaction is always, “What do we need to give them to make them leave us alone?” I always wonder what high school must have been like for these people.
Me too. It takes a special kind of stupidity to embrace appeasement.

Maybe they should try the USA method of shoot first and not worry about anything else?
History would not support this precise description.
Although my proposed solution would have involved a lot of gunfire.
I cannot say I've got an easy solution.
But John is right that throwing money at a rioting mob is a colossally bad idea.
If the French can actually sit down with the leaders in these communities and make solutions which sides will be responsible for, that is one thing.
But "here is some cash, please stop burning our cities" is just asking for more violence every time this group feels neglected or wants something.
The dark side of human nature learns quickly. If bad behavior gets rewarded, it will be repeated again and again until the rewards stop and a real negative consequence appears.
That is a universal reality. We see it in toddler, teens, Terrel Owens, you name it. When people get what they want through bad behavior, why should they become good citizens? Where is the incentive to grow and mature?
For the sake of not only France but her neighbors, I hope the French government thinks this through.
Yes. The frogs are irritating people. But let's hope that they win this war. It would be a shame to see Western Civilization collapse in Europe.
