A Bit of a Dilemma

I'm writing a paper in which I describe the transforming effect that a faithful and authentic Christian church has on the world (a la Resident Aliens). The clearest way that I can express it metaphorically is a Star Trek reference. Hmm.

In Good company Gretz used star trek to explain Postmodernism and the Church :)

Possibilities here:
1) Preaching style - Kirk or Picard?
2) Evangelism, Borg style.
3) Christian Perfection and Commander Data: A Six-week Study.

Actually, the Genesis device seems like a better metaphor for the Second Coming than the effect of the Church living as the Church in this world.

Perhaps it is better to think of Christians like the Vulcans prior to the solidification of the Federation.

Prior to the Federation period, the Vulcan race assisted humanity in the transition into a much larger universe.

In a sense, we who carry the Gospel into this lost and selfish world have a somewhat similar task. We just don't wear cat-suites while doing it.

Works for me.

I can't count the number of Star Trek references I've used in papers.... The series were great morality plays.

Darmok is my favorite. Rich material.
