Some computer gamers don't have the time or energy to work through the hard levels of a video game. The solution? Hire some guy a third-world country to do it for you for a pittance. Everyone wins! A Chinese worker has a job, you get to skip that stupid car-racing level in Mafia, and Adam Smith rolls over in his grave.
Hat tip.

Makes sense. In a world without chinese rice farmers the only people who would be able to play at the highest levels would be those who spent all day in their parents basements or who did not have a life or a job.
Trading money for time or convenience (not having to plant your own food, clean your own homes, cook your own meals, watch your own children etc being a good example) is in every part of our life.
The on line games will never shut it down. Think about it. If you were Sony or Vivendi. Would you prefer to please the folks with no job, a basement and tons of time OR would you prefer to please those who had a steady income to spend on your game (hence less time since they have to WORK) and had the interest to actually spend on a third party to enhance their experience. BINGO! And that's why Chinese rice farming is not going away.
