Life Abroad

If you could live in a foreign country for a year -- and money and language were not issues -- where would you go?

If I'd have to choose from places I've been, I would say the north coast of Northern Ireland would be nice. Japan would be great though too.

Of places I haven't been, I'd love to give New Zeland a try.

Sicily has a fascinating history: Greeks, Phoenicians, Romans, Byzantines, Normans, Germans, Arabs -- so many people have lived there and left their mark.

I lived abroad in a foriegn land for 9 months. I was in Schenectady, NY, from September til late May. I think it was winter the whole time I was there. But, I did see many strange and exotic things. For one thing, the streets were all paved. Oh, and every public place had somewhere to give the clerk your winter coat and you got a ticket and they kept if for you...

Seriously, I've like to go to Israel and I'd like to go to South America. Someplace like Brazil or Argentina. Third is Eastern Europe. Poland or Romania or the Baltics. I don't have a clue why.

I'd love to live in Romania for a year to be with my wife's family. I'd love to really experience her culture for more than just a few weeks.
