There's a fine line...

...between love and felonious stalking.

That would make a great country music ballad. I'm thinking of Randy Travis as the singer.

I have a friend whose fiance kind of flipped out about a month before their planned wedding and flew across the country back to her parents' house to hide out. When my friend called to inquire as to his future bride's wellbeing, her cop brother said "there's a fine line between showing concern and stalking" and told him to leave her alone.

Fortunately, said friend is now happily married to someone else, someone apparently quite sane and with a sane family.

And, in the words of comedian Stephen Wright:

There's a fine line between fishing and standing on the shore like an idiot.

If there's any line between then, Jason, I don't see it.

Actually, it's not such a fine line. Stalking is a real problem and stalking to the point of a felony is very serious.

The stalker may think that they are acting "in love", but they are violating the other person's rights and far too often the results are violent.
