Myrtle Beach Adventures

It was truly awesome to meet nine other Methobloggers all at once for three days at the Congress on Evangelism. There were excellent lectures by Dr. J. Ellsworth Kalas, the interim president of Asbury and Bishop Scott Jones of Kansas. I saw other Methocelebrities there, like the famous/notorious Mark Tooley -- whom my companions referred to with Darth Vader-like attributes. He was having dinner with Dr. Kalas while we had our formal dinner. Dr. Joy Moore, who was one of my instructors last year, gave a keynote address.

Your apportionment dollars at work! (h/t -- I'm not serious, of course. The Foundation gets all of its money from donations.

Other Notes:
  • DogBlogger looks absolutely nothing like her picture.
  • From our evening at the indoor Lazy River ride, I can confirm statement 1.
  • Our final act was a business meeting in a bar, which we concluded by celebrating the Eucharist. Thanks, Abi, for leading us in taking the sacrament.
  • Gavin's bishop (Dick Wills) gave him etiquette tips. Bishops are handy that way.

It sounds like you all had a great time. I hope to touch base with you in the next few days for a possible highlight in the U.M. Reporter. Wish I could have been there!
