i've seen him do this live before. it was pretty darn awesome. people thought he had some ringers in the crowd to help carry this.. i bet one can just bank on having a couple of wedding singer folks who know the tune.

at our show he also did a dualing banjos with belafleck which was super. he closed out leading the nashville orchestra in john williams 'indiana jones' theme song, then stopped mid stream and made them put down their instruments and sing their finishing parts. a lot of fun, amazing music. i'd encourage everyone to check him out if he is coming to your town.

The first time I heard this, it was off the collaboration CD between McFerrin and Yo-Yo Ma. It was interesting to have the voice being the "background" and the cello being what is normally the "voice" part.
