The role-playing game Vampire: The Masquerade was published between 1992 and 2004 by White Wolf. It was, in my memory, tremendously popular in the mid to late 90s.
I played it a few times, but never got into it. Not like some people did, pretty much adopting the vampire-chic thing as a lifestyle. What I didn't like about the game was that you had to be an evil character; you had to be soulless and feast upon human life.
I like dark, but I like a little light in my dark.
That said, the sissy vampire thing that modern vampire fans have going -- I'll totally pass. CollegeHumor had a great take on this new wussified vampirism.
