As Rhode Island goes, so goes the nation:Fans of the world’s first action figure are holding their 17th annual convention in Providence this weekend. It’s the first time the convention will be held in Rhode Island, home of Pawtucket-based Hasbro, which makes G.I. Joe.
To celebrate the event, Gov. Don Carcieri has proclaimed May 1 as G.I. Joe Day.
