The very first science fiction film, "A Trip to the Moon" was made in 1902 by Georges Méliès and is loosely based on the Jules Verne novel From the Earth to the Moon. The iconic moon eye-shot was duplicated by LEGO artist Guy Himber and won a prize at the 2009 BrickCon Lego convention.
