The American Left Moves an Inch Closer to Federalism

The FDA has banned sperm donations from gay men.

Would anyone on the Left like to point out that the FDA has no Constitutional authorization to exist, let alone mandate such requirements?

I keep thinking that my friends on the left will reconsider their position on gun control now that their opponents are in charge of two out of three branches of government. I don't understand how they can continue to support a government monopoly on firearms.

Let the hysteria about theocracy grow. The Left will come around on gun control. After all, it's not a Left or Right issue -- it's about control.

The most fascinating aspect of this story is that none of the activists opposing the change have said a word about the Constitution. People on both sides simply debate the merits.

(I certainly hope bloggers wouldn't behave in a similar manner if faced with McCain-Feingold restrictions on blogging.)

I think that the idea of limited government has simply faded from the American mind. There is a presumption that big government is good and nothing to be afraid of.
