James Lewis has written a fine column on American Thinker about the future allies of the Untied States. Lewis rightfully assumes that Europe is a lost cause and will, within a few decades, vanish entirely into Eurabia. Britain has a hope of escaping this disaster, but I gather that its people no longer have the stomach to do what is necessary to escape (e.g. withdraw from the EU, disband the economically exhaustive welfare state, re-arm massively, and completely shut off Islamic immigration).
So who do we turn to for help in the future? Lewis says Japan, India, and Australia. Good picks. Japan is firmly democratic, could go nuclear within a few weeks, and can hold off China on its own, if sufficiently armed. India is a scrappy, rising power that has the economic resources to hold back the Chinese and Pscyhoislamic tides. Australia -- I'm not sure. It's a small, although completely modern nation, and will much to fear from China.
Of course, many of these problems could be ameliorated if we bombed Iranian and North Korean nuclear facilities now.
