How do you practice the Sabbath?

I'm afraid I don't. I will typically refrain from work, but I'll do yard work. I happen to enjoy working in the yard, so it's hard to call it "labor". Having said this, however, I don't know that I do much on Sabbath beyond attend church that could remotely be considered glorifying to His name.

You're better than I am. Sunday is just another day of work for me. I try to take occasionaly periods of spiritual rest, but they are rare.
sunday is a day of work for me. i try to take friday as a day of rest.. but lately that hasn't happened much. when i can take a weekday it's quite nice as everyone else is working, so it's easier not to be asked to do other things.
I avoid going to the store unless I need to pick up medications.
That's probably a hold-over from my early childhood when the "blue laws" in Texas shuttered retail businesses except for a few pharmacies and gas stations. If you went into a drugstore or grocery store on Sunday afternoon (nothing was open in the morning) there were lots of items marked "not sold on Sunday."
As a wife and mother much of my week is taken up with running errands, so a sabbath from that activity is really a sabbath!
How do I handle Sabbath? I'm with most everyone else here. Sunday is a day of work. Thursday (my day away from the office) is usually so full of the "honey do" (and other) stuff that rest is next to impossible.
One of the things that Bishop Swanson emphasized at Local Pastor's School was that we needed to take better care of ourselves...and that the time to start is now. How can we expect to take care of and love the folks that we are called to shepherd, if we won't take care of ourselves physically and spitiually?
That is the challenge that I face...anyone else?
