Eugene de Blaas (1843-1932) was an Austrian-born Italian Academic painter. He was educated in Rome and Venice and exhibited at the Royal Academy in London from 1875-1892. Blaas painted genre scenes of pretty peasant girls, nuns, and flirtation scenes.
What I like about Blaas is that his models are posed, but appear in motion, as though we are eavesdropping on a slice of everyday life. Looking at a Blaas compels me to take a sigh of relief. People are happy and all is well with the world. This painting is called The Flirtation (1904).
The Watercarrier (1908).

Hello,
I am trying to track down a painting by Eugene de Blaas that is in a book called, " The Love Between Sisters" (Hallmark book). In the back of the book it lists Eugene de Blaas as the artist and the name of the painting, "The New Suitor". However, when I searched on-line to order the painting it came up with the painting listed on your site and every other site as well, so I am wondering where to find this mysterious painting by Blaas? It is a Blaas painting, because it is very similar to "The New Suitor".

Correction to the last: The painting in the hallmark book is a different painting then what is listed on-line and identified as the new suitor? However, the book lists the painting as the new suitor??
Confused
