Question of the Day
Our QotD is by Stephen Fife, who asks about the appropriateness of imprecatory prayers. Should Christians pray that God smite their enemies? Go over to Stephen's blog and share your thoughts.

Thanks for the shout out!
My take is that there are examples of this sort of thing in the Bible, that people DO, in fact, curse their enemies and God doesn't necessarily hold that against us.
It's human to give into our baser prejudices and hatred at times.
What we SHOULDN'T do, it seems to me, is advocate imprecatory prayers.
That is, we ought not begin our church services...
"Come now, brothers and sisters. Let's pray that God horribly and painfully smite George Bush (Hillary Clinton, Osama bin Laden, etc), dismembering he and his family into little bits, in God's Love and Mercy. Amen!"
Seems to me.
